First day of Summer! And to start the new season, I went biking today to the new park at Ontario Place here in Toronto, the Trillium Park and the William G. Davis Trail. It’s a stunning waterfront green space, with an amazing view of the city skyline. The park just opened recently, a couple days ago, with over 1,000 trees yet to grow. That means there’s not a lot of shade in the park. However, there’s a pavilion there (one of the highlights of the park, in my opinion) that offers a shelter from the sun.
The Trillium Park is a great place for a picnic or just to lounge. For bikers, there’s the William G. Davis Trail, a diversion from the ride along the Martin Goodman Trail. To get to the new park is quite easy. Just go biking head south from the intersection of Lake Shore Boulevard West and Ontario Place Boulevard. The entrance is marked with a number kiosks, with information about the park.
